To avoid any misunderstandings, we advise you to read our terms and conditions before booking a stay with us. Also consider cancellation insurance.
Since Covid-19, our terms and conditions have been updated and may be changed during the season, depending on developments regarding a new Covid-19 outbreak or similar epidemics . (See also passage Covid-19 in the general terms and conditions).
French law stipulates that only the French text of our general terms and conditions is legally valid. Below is a translation of the French text.
Article 1: Application.
The general terms and conditions apply to every stay in our chambres d’hôtes, our campsite and gite unless otherwise agreed in writing and signed by us.
Article 2: Duration of residence.
Staying in our chambres d’hôtes, gite and campsite is only possible for tourist reasons, with a limited length of stay.
You can book our rooms and campsite for stays of 1 nights or more. An exception is our gîte, which can only be booked from 7 nights or more. Occasionally a room can be booked in combination with a package organised by us at that time, all based on the booking calendar and previous announced event.
At Christmas, New Year, Easter, Ascension Day and Whitsun, all our rooms can be booked for 2 nights or more.
Under no circumstances can you invoke any right to perpetuate the stay.
Article 3: High-low season.
We use high and low season prices and a standard surcharge of € 5 per night per room for heating and electricity in the low season.
Art 4: Reservation and down payment.
The reservation is final when you have transferred the payment for the room or package. When booking you will receive a confirmation email. You pay at least 30 days before arrival. If the arrival date is within 30 days of booking, you pay immediately upon reservation or arrival. At a reservation of our chambres d’hôtes, breakfast is inextricably linked to the room.
Article 5: Rates.
The rates as stated on our website www.marraycourt.com are the applicable rates.
Article 6: Payments.
Other costs e.g. meals, drinks, arrangementen and tours are settled on the morning of departure. You cannot pin with us. Payment can be made: in cash, by direct bank transfer, cheque.
Article 7: Cancellation by the guest.
Any cancellation must be notified by telephone and in writing. The following costs will be charged:
- Cancellation between 30 and 14 days before arrival: 50% of the deposit remains with us.
- Cancellation less than 14 days before arrival. The amount of the entire reservation remains.
- For shorter stays than reserved, the entire reservation will be charged to you.
Covid-19.
In the event of a lockdown of our region (department of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) or the closing of the borders by the government due to Covid-19, you will receive a refund in the event of cancellation. In all other cases, our usual terms and conditions apply as stated above.
Article 8: Cancellation by the owner.
In the event that we are obliged (due to special circumstances) to cancel your stay, you will be notified immediately by telephone and in writing. You will receive previously deposited amounts back immediately. Marraycourt accepts no liability for other damage suffered by you, no further claim can be made to any form of compensation of any kind.
Article 9: Arrival and departure.
On the day of arrival we welcome you between 4 and 7 pm. If you arrive later, please contact us in advance; for earlier arrivals and late departures we charge a supplement of EUR 40.
On the day of departure you can use the room until 11.00 am.
Article 10: Residence tax.
The sojourn tax, (taxe de séjour), is a local tourist tax, which you must pay per night at arrival. The city tax is not included in the room rate and is at the moment EUR 0,50 per person per night. We are obliged to pay the tourist tax to the French state.
Article 11: use of our accommodation facilities.
You are expected to keep the peace during your stay and only to use the building, guest accommodation, garden, campsite, your own guest room and that furniture is used for their intended purpose. You leave the room in good condition.
Article 12: Environment and Damage.
A special feature of our chambres d’hôtes, campsite and gite is the relaxing environment. We would like to respect this. We expect you to take into account other guests, the neighbors and the environment. The street lights turn off at night for the tranquility of flora and fauna.
Damage
Under no circumstances can we assume liability for damages suffered. To clarify, we cannot be held liable for theft of your property, damage caused by others and damage due to natural disasters (storm, lightning, fallen trees, broken branches, electrical short circuits, flooding etc); these are expressly excluded. You should take your own precautions to prevent damage, for example by properly securing your property or choosing a safer location.
Article 13: Pets and other animals.
Pets are not allowed in our chambres d’hôtes. They are allowed in our campsite and in our Gîte at a surcharge. For the gite provided the dog is well-behaved during the stay, stays on the ground floor. Dogs need to be leashed at all times.
Article 14: Smoking ban.
Smoking is not allowed in the house, gite and in our guest rooms.
Article 15: Drinks and food.
We follow the French alcohol law for chambres d’hôtes with restaurant license. Alcohol may not be served to minors under the age of 18. Furthermore, it is not allowed to consume your own (alcoholic) drinks and food in the guesthouse, in the guest rooms and not to bring your own cooking equipment.
Article 16: Registration.
We are required, in accordance with French law, to register all persons with a nationality other than French. We do not provide your data to third parties.
