Marraycourt is a special place that has a lot to offer. You are in beautiful green surroundings where you can see squirrels running across the fields. But just around the corner, you can walk into the lively town of Marcigny with, among other things, several bakeries, a bicycle shop, a tiny and two big supermarkets, an antique and bric-a-brac shop, a bureau de tabac, an office de tourisme and several other nice shops. There is also a large weekly market on Monday mornings.
But that’s not all! You can also enjoy fantastic cycling and walking here. The former railway line with its old stations has been transformed into a ‘voie verte’ (green-way) which is then included in beautiful cycling and walking routes. And best of all: our motorhome site is just around the corner from the voie verte.
Whether you are a sporty cyclist or prefer to take a relaxing bike ride, it is all possible here! At various places along the routes you will find picnic benches, sanitary facilities and taps where you can tap water. You will also find supermarkets and catering establishments along the routes, so you won’t be short of anything during your cycle trip.
Remarkably, the voie verte is off-limits to cars and the connecting routes are car-free. This makes it wonderfully relaxing to cycle and enjoy the surroundings.
The routes are diverse and there is plenty to see, from the Loire in all its glory, to beautiful Romanesque churches and old castles that will make you imagine yourself in the Middle Ages.
